Anniversary Symposia
The JSPS Club celebrates milestone anniversaries with an additional symposium in Japan. In these years, the events “Club Meeting in Japan” and “Members Invite Members” in Germany are canceled.
The anniversary symposium for the 10th anniversary of the JSPS Club 2005 also took place as an event within the framework of the “Germany in Japan Year 2005/2006”.
The anniversary symposium on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the JSPS Club 2010 took place within the framework of the initiative “150 years of friendship between Germany and Japan”, commemorating 150 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Germany.
For the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the JSPS Club 2015, two symposia could be offered in Japan. The one at the National Museum of Japanese History was closely connected to the exhibition of the History of Japanese German Relations which was featured at the museum at that time.
On the 25th anniversary of the JSPS Club 2020, the symposium unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic.
The JSPS Club was therefore delighted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its foundation in 2025 with a symposium in Tokyo. The topic “Quantum Physics” also marks an anniversary. In 1925, the German Nobel Prize winner Werner Heisenberg defined the new discipline for the first time. The symposium therefore also celebrates 100 years of scientific history.
